Tonight we've released a new update for Fasteroute for Android (an iOS update is in the works and will be released soon) which lands the beginnings of an exciting new feature.
In the picture above, you might notice something a bit different about that departure board - the green, yellow and red bars next to the train are telling you, based on the last few months of history, how well that train runs to timetable. Green means it's generally on time, yellow means it's often a bit delayed, and red means it's got a reputation for long delays and cancellations. (If you see grey bars, that means we don't have enough information on that particular train or at that particular station). Now you can see at a glance whether you're picking a punctual train or a bad one, and when there's a choice, you can pick the best one.
When you look at the train's details, you can see that coloured bar again, along with a brief explanation of how it earned its reputation too.
To see this in action, make sure you have updated to the latest version of Fasteroute for Android (version 0.2.0), and either take a look at the arrivals board at a station, or the departures calling at a particular station. Plain departure boards don't show these bars yet - they'll be added in a soon-to-be-released update.
This is an exciting new feature for Fasteroute, and what you see today is just the beginning. We've got big plans to help you make your train journeys as smooth and painless as possible, so look out for more exciting updates soon.
